Dmitri makes thrilling debut at Arena di Verona

Last Saturday Dmitri Hvorostovsky made his long-awaited debut at the 88th annual Arena di Verona Opera Festival in an iconic Franco Zeffirelli production of Verdi’s Il Trovatore.  The Leonora to Dmitri’s Count was his frequent collaborator, the American soprano Sondra Radvanovsky.  The production, which also stars tenor Marcelo Álvarez as Mancrico and mezzo-soprano Marianne Cornetti as Azucena, runs through August 19.  Italian conductor Marco Armiliato leads the all-star cast.
